Yale Public Schools is excited to introduce Ryder — our new therapy dog!
Ryder will be on campus every day, working alongside handler, Mrs. Kennedy, and staff to support students who may be feeling upset, anxious, or struggling with their emotions.
Trained to greet with a friendly “hello,” offer comforting hugs, or serve as a patient reading buddy, Ryder loves kids and spreads joy wherever he goes.
He has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certification and successfully passed his therapy dog evaluation at Deer Creek Academy in Kentucky. He is now in the final stages of completing his Alliance of Therapy Dogs certification.
We are thrilled to welcome Ryder to our school family and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our students.🐾🐾

We are asking all new students in grades 7-12 to report to the front office in the morning at 7:40 when the bell rings. You will be paired with a fellow student who will help you navigate your first day at YPS. We are glad you are a Bulldog!
In the morning, 5th and 6th grade will meet in the old gym at 7:40 to split them up between band and PE time.
Students needing to see Mrs. Griffin will need to sign in on her appointment schedule, and she will call you down as she has time.
Students/parents can locate class schedules in their student/parent portal.
School dismisses at 2:50.
Please add the Yale Schools app to your phone for school events, details, and information.
YPS does have a no cell phone policy.
We are looking forward to a great school year!!

Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, all students are expected to keep all personal electronic devices turned off and out of sight during the school day. This includes:
Cell phones

iPods or other streaming devices
Any device that connects to the internet or cell network
Students can bring devices to school at their own risk, but usage is only allowed before or after school hours. During the school day, students who need to contact a parent/guardian may request to use an office phone. Likewise, families needing to contact a student should call the school office.
