The attached schedule will be used for 6th-12th grade students to have google meets with their teachers tomorrow. We are asking students and parents to do their best with the technology that they have available. This isn't a perfect system, but we are attempting to learn how to best serve our students needs.
Thank you for your cooperation!

We know that there are a lot of questions regarding the distance training day. We would like to address a few of them at this time. If you have questions other than what I address here, then please call or email me and I will be happy to answer those as well. Rkennedy@yale.k12.ok.us
We believe that it would best to attempt a one day trial training before the need for a longer closure could arise. Hopefully we will not need to use the distance learning platform, but we do want to be as prepared as possible.
Please visit with your children about their google classroom accounts. Teachers have been working with your children for the past 12 school days to help them better understand how it works and how it can be accessed at home. Google classroom can be accessed from just about any device that has an internet connection. Cell phones are not ideal, but most can be used if that is what is available.
We are going to approach this training day as if everyone has full access to google classroom at home. We realize that 100% capability isnāt realistic. We need a starting point, and we didnāt want to underestimate anyoneās capabilities. Students that are capable of logging in and completing the assignments will be counted present and given credit for their completed work. Students that are not capable of logging in will be counted absent for the day; however, upon returning to school on Tuesday, they will be given the opportunity to complete the work and have the absence removed. We do not intend for this training to be punitive, but rather informative.
Students will be sent home with a schedule of when their teachers will be conducting google meets. These meets will only last about 10 minutes each. If you have multiple students using one device, please have each student attend as many meets as they can.
Thank you for your cooperation.

We want to make sure that students in grades 6-12 know to wear a face covering, bring their own water bottles or cups with screw on lids, all students must have their temperature taken before entering the building, and that the tardy bell rings at 7:50 in the morning. Letās make the most of our opportunities!!
