We are currently in the Human Services Cluster and going over cosmetology. Each student gets their own manikin head that will go home with them when we are done. We have been learning how to hold shears properly, palm our shears as to not cross contaminate surfaces, sectioning hair and performing a blunt/straight haircut.

11th & 12th grade students were given their reports yesterday 1/8.
There will be a prom meeting in Ms. Vann's room after school on Monday, January 12th. Discussions will include theme options, decorations, DJ, and photo booth. All juniors and seniors, including parents, are welcome to attend.
All students in grades 6-10 were given their report cards for the first semester yesterday. Students who did not receive one should visit Mrs. Griffin for their copy. 11th and 12th grade report cards will be sent out upon the completion of Tech grades being entered.

January 6th fans of the game are Cooper Shenold and Ryan Reece. If you want to be a fan of the game make sure you are loud and cheering our players on. Cheerleaders will choose 2 for JH and HS games.
Mrs. Kacey’s 5th grade students applied their understanding of the metric system by measuring objects around the playground using millimeters , centimeters, and meters. This hands-on activity aligns with Oklahoma Academic Standards for 5th Grade Mathematics by reinforcing measurement skills, unit conversion, and real-world problem solving.

These are the brackets for the Ripley Basketball Tournament.
YPS Student Council hosted a coin drive competition between our 6th–12th grade classes. The competition was won by our 7th grade, but we are extremely proud of all of our students for giving to help others. Our students donated almost $200! This money was donated to our local police department for the “Cops for Tots” program, which helps provide Christmas support to those in need. We are proud of our students for their generosity and loving hearts. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
