We are currently in the Human Services Cluster and going over cosmetology. Each student gets their own manikin head that will go home with them when we are done. We have been learning how to hold shears properly, palm our shears as to not cross contaminate surfaces, sectioning hair and performing a blunt/straight haircut.

We are so incredibly proud of our very own Brayla Gibson! 🌟

Brayla is an exceptional student and she proved it by earning an outstanding 31 on the ACT! This achievement is a true reflection of her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom.

Yale Public Schools is beyond proud of Brayla and all she has accomplished. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will continue to do. Here are a few interview questions we did to spotlight her and all of her success:

What is your favorite class/teacher, and why?
My favorite class is Band and my favorite teacher is Mr. Sturgeon. I enjoy playing the Saxophone and Mr. Sturgeon is always willing to help!

What are your future career and education goals?
I plan on going to college to become a biomedical engineer or a dermatologist.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading, writing, crocheting, playing my instruments, and playing with my dog, Reacher.

Your hard work truly shines! Congratulations, Brayla! 📚🎉

Mrs. Kacey’s 5th grade students applied their understanding of the metric system by measuring objects around the playground using millimeters , centimeters, and meters. This hands-on activity aligns with Oklahoma Academic Standards for 5th Grade Mathematics by reinforcing measurement skills, unit conversion, and real-world problem solving.

YPS Student Council hosted a coin drive competition between our 6th–12th grade classes. The competition was won by our 7th grade, but we are extremely proud of all of our students for giving to help others. Our students donated almost $200! This money was donated to our local police department for the “Cops for Tots” program, which helps provide Christmas support to those in need. We are proud of our students for their generosity and loving hearts. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
